Rich Sigberman’s great interests include Jazz music, comic strip art, poster art, animation, and advertising images from the turn of the century through the 1050’s. His art reflects thesethemes through his use of bold images and colors.
My art is quintessentially American in that jazz music, comic strip and comic book coover art, and most of the commercial logos I use in my pop art were invented here. The bold, audacious, optimistic cartoon style I use is grounded in American cartoon and poster art from the forst half of the 20th century. I inject a fun element into my art, and also include an undercurrent of slightly subversive imagery and shadowing to imply another dimension just below the surface.
For my commissioned work, the collaborative process infuses me with enormous energy. I relish creating art that brings joy and excitemant to my clients.
